How do I start a new list?

Make a new wishlist in Wishes → Lists: pick what it's for, add a date if there is one, and choose who can see it. Make as many as you like.

Go to Wishes → Lists, tap New list, choose what it's for, a date if there is one, and who can see it, then tap Create list.

Your new list opens straight away, ready for wishes. "How do I add a wish?" shows how to fill it.

Steps

  1. Open Wishes (in the bottom bar on a phone, in the rail on the left on a computer) and go to Lists.

  2. Tap New list.

  3. Type a name under What to call it, or leave it blank.

  4. Under What's it for, pick the occasion.

  5. Pick the day under When, or leave it empty for a list with no date.

  6. Under Who can see it, pick who can open the list.

  7. Tap Create list.

You'll find New list on Dates too. Leave the name blank and Wishpicks names the list for you: a birthday with a date becomes "Birthday" plus the year, and a list with no occasion becomes "My Wishlist". Not sure what to pick under Who can see it? See "Who can see my wishlist?".

Is there a quicker way to start?

Yes. On Home, Start here → New list makes a list called My Wishlist and opens it straight away, without the New list form. It works without an account, too. Start here goes away once one of your lists has a wish on it.

With no lists yet, Wishes → Lists offers two starts: For an occasion, with a date on it, and Just things I want, which asks for no date; left unnamed, that list is called "Just for me".

How many lists can I make?

As many as you like, each with its own occasion, date and who can see it.

Can I set an occasion and a date?

Yes: when you start a list, pick Birthday, Wedding, Baby registry or another occasion under What's it for, and its day under When, if it has one. A wedding or baby registry is an ordinary list with that occasion, so there's nothing separate to set up. For ideas, see how to put a list together for each occasion.

To change the occasion or date later, see "How do I edit or delete a list?".

Where do I see upcoming dates for my lists?

In Wishes → Dates, grouped as Today, This week, Coming up and Past, and on Home under Coming up (or To do).

Tips

  • Give each occasion its own list, so birthday shoppers see only your birthday wishes.

  • For a wedding or baby list, add gifts at a range of prices, so every guest finds one they can reserve on their own.

  • Want a description or a cover photo? "How do I edit or delete a list?" shows where they go.

  • Printing invitations? Your list's QR code can go on them: see "How do I share my wishlist?".
