Each wishlist has one of three visibility settings — Public, Anyone with the link, or Invite only — and they control who can view it. New wishlists start as Anyone with the link.
You can change visibility under the Share tab in your wishlist settings, in the section that controls who has access to your wishlist.
The three settings
Public — anyone can view it, and it also shows on your public profile. (You need to be signed in to use this setting.)
Anyone with the link — everyone you send the link to can view it, but it does not appear on your profile. This is the default for new wishlists.
Invite only — only you and the people you've invited by email can view it. Everyone else sees a "No Access" page.
Good to know
Visibility controls viewing, not editing. Letting someone edit is a separate email invite and works the same whether the wishlist is public or private. See "What's the difference between an editor, a guest, and someone reserving a gift?"
Two settings behave in ways people don't always expect:
A Public wishlist appears only on your public profile. It does not show up in any browse, feed, or search surface anywhere on Wishpicks — so the only people who find it are those who visit your profile or have the link.
To share an Invite only wishlist, a plain link won't work — invite specific people by their email address. The Share screen reminds you: turn off Invite only to share a link.
Guests can reserve gifts on any wishlist they can view, unless you've changed your reservation setting — see "How do I make sure my friends can reserve a gift?" And because everyone who has the link can open an Anyone with the link or Public wishlist, don't put a home address on it. Wishpicks has no delivery-address feature — the gift-giver buys at the store and sorts out delivery with you directly (or you share the details privately).
