How to safely share delivery details

Keep your address off the wishlist and share it privately with the person sending the gift, using a neutral on-list note to start the conversation.

Written by Wishpicks

Keep your address off the wishlist and give it to the one person sending the gift, privately. A neutral note on the list is only there to start that conversation.

A wishlist set to Anyone with the link can be opened by anyone who's been sent it, so it should never carry contact details. Wishpicks doesn't ship anything, which means delivery is always something you and the gifter arrange between yourselves.

Steps

  1. Leave a neutral hint on the wish, such as "Message me for delivery details."

  2. Wait for the gifter to get in touch, or message the person you know is sending something.

  3. Send your address through a private channel you trust: text, chat, or email, to that one person.

  4. Don't repeat it in any note or field that ends up back on the wishlist.

Good to know

  • The gifter's reservation note won't work as a back channel. It stays hidden from you so the surprise holds.

  • If you'd rather not rely on where the link ends up, set the list to Invite only and invite people by email.
