My link didn't import correctly — how do I add the item manually?

When a link can't be read, the Wish Bar offers Add it manually — it opens the full new-wish form so you can type the name, price, and other details yourself.

When Wishpicks can't read a link, the Wish Bar shows an Add it manually option. It opens the full new-wish form with your link already filled in, so you can type the rest of the details yourself.

Steps

  1. Paste the product link into the Add Wish bar as usual.

  2. If Wishpicks can't read it, you'll see a message like "We couldn't find a product at this link." Choose Try again or Add it manually.

  3. Select Add it manually. The full new-wish form opens with the link already filled in.

  4. Type the name and price, add a photo and any notes, then save the wish.

If something goes wrong

Try again first if you like. Reading a page can fail now and then, and a second attempt often works. If it fails again, you'll see a prompt to try a different link or add it manually.

  • Pasted a few words instead of a link? If a short search turns up nothing in the catalog, the same Add it manually option appears so you can create the wish by hand.

  • Adding several links at once? If you paste two or more links and every one fails to import, the panel offers to Add them as custom wishes — it creates one wish per link, using the link's site name as a placeholder title that you can rename. See "Can I add several products at once?"

  • You can add a photo yourself — see "How do I attach my own photo to a wish?"

  • You need Contributor access or higher to add a wish to a shared wishlist. See "What is the difference between viewing and editing access?" in the Shared Wishlists collection.
